Endoscopy
An upper endoscopy, also known as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), is a diagnostic procedure that allows doctors to examine the inside of the upper digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. This procedure is commonly used to investigate symptoms such as persistent heartburn, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, swallowing difficulties. This procedure is done using anesthesia, so patients do not feel pain during the procedure.
